dreamy spring - dress & head piece

So,
I guess I just can't stay away from making clothes with this fabric, and this pattern!

Last weekend, I had some time to sew and made a dress,

and a head piecefor the bloomy seasson around the corner!

Together, they look like this!

HMMMMMMMMMM
I LOVE SPRING!

Just love the feeling of everything is new and coming back to life after a long cold winter.
flowers are brooming, green tree buds are sprouting, and birds are singing pretty songs...
and it smells nice too!

Up here in Canada, we still have mostly cloudy days... :(

but I can here footsteps of the spring just around the corner!

Can't wait for the wamer sunny days!!!!!

amigurumi

We are trying to minimize the amount of plastic in our household.
We want to create an Eco-conscious & friendly home and life.
It is very hard to find good quality everything, though, made with wood, quality metal and glass just like the old days. Sadly, everything is made with plastic these days...

We don't want to give our daughter any plastic toys either.
which means, NO BARBIE DOLLS for her!
Instead, give her toys made out of natural materials like wood, fabric and paper.

I am making her a felt baby mobile.
I had to order some materials and can't go further without them...
Can't wait to finish it up, and I will post it here as soon as I finish it!

Also, I found these cute stuffed animals, called 'AMIGURUMI'.
They are knitted and/or crocheted.
So super cute !

Since I don't knit or chroche (I don't have patience for them!),
I am thinking of getting one for our daughter :)
Well, I don't think she is quite ready to start playing with dolls, but soon she will be!

Here are some of my favorites I found on Etsy.

etsy fromt page

Apparently, the Treasury that my 'Minty Summer' top was listed on made it to the front page of Etsy a few days ago!
I had no idea!
But a craft pal of mine sent me a message congratulating me on Etsy.
She also has her own Etsy shop, Free Flight Clothing.

Her store is full of cute screen printed clothes!

So, be sure to go check out her Etsy store!!

'goes down easy' treasury

It is very encouraging to know that my creations catch some people's eye :)

yum yum

Well, I am impressed with myself!
I am doing pretty well with keeping my blog going...
Not only keeping up with it, but also I have been able to have some time and energy to sew and do other things!
good job, me :)
Last weekend, I got a request form my husband, let's call him B, for butter tarts.
and, here they were!
I ended up making 27 of them.
We took some to our friends, but we ate the rest within a couple of days...!
Anything sweet doesn't last more than a few days around here. hehehe
I always use a recipe from his family for butter tarts.
Simple ingredients, and they taste fantastic!
It was probably not a very good idea for the breast milk,
but oh well, mommy needs a little treat once in a while :P
And last night, I made Kamut Berry Salad.

This salad is one of our favourite salads.

We used to buy it at Ashland Food Co-Op all the time when we lived down in Oregon.

It is super yummy and good for you.

We loved and missed it so much that I started making my own Kamut Salad.

I think it is very close to the original and tastes fab!

hmmmmmmm...

just talking about food makes me hungry!

minty summer

I made another one of this top I made last week.
I made a tie bow in the back instead of using buttons for closures.
I will list this shirt on my Etsy shop sometime today :)
