spilling the beans -long over due

okay, it's way over due to announce this here,
but I am pregnant!
I am not sure how the time went by so quickly this time, but I am almost 21weeks!!
geez!
this is my second pregnancy and it often gets forgotten/ignored when you already have a little one to chase after.
finally, I made a point of taking some photos(first time!) of this pregnancy today.
I need to start documenting it more often since most likely this is going to be my last one.
my almost-three-yr-old girl is very excited to be a big sister,
and she tells me she can't wait to hold the baby when he/she comes out. very cute :)

although we're not going to find out the sex of the baby until the baby comes out, and my little girl thinks it's a BOY,
I couldn't resist this baby sailor dress when I saw it at a local thrift store...
well, it costs only a few bucks!
also I found these awesome kids wooden clogs at the same store!
not sure who makes them. can't find a tag. perhaps handmade?
they are still too big for the little one. she has a few more years to grow into!

shoe addiction

one of my bad habits is 'collecting' shoes.
yes, I have a shoe addiction!!

in order not to 'collect' shoes, I try to get the ones I wear for sure.
(no high heels... they are just not so practical for me.)

regardless of my effort, my pile of shoes keeps growing, seemingly, every months.
there are some pairs I will never wear, or wear maybe once or twice a year.
I probably should get rid of them...

but oh well, what can I do?
lots of shoes make me so happy :)
here are a coupe of cuties added to the collection this week!

I found the purple bow shoes(left) at a local vintage store.
they were 18 bucks, but I had some store credits from consignment items, so they were free!
the black flats were thrifted today for $2.
they show the toe-lines(don't know what to call them... little bit top part of toes??),
and it kind of bugs me...
but hey for $2, I can give them a try! I am sure I'm going to wear them lots!!

... and shes for my daughter :)
the pink bear shoes were thrifted for 99c.
the other pair of shoes/boots were $9 each at a local kids consignment store.
how can you resist the little girly shoes?!
they all are super cute!!!
aaahhhh
yup,,, no wonder why the number of shoes in our household keeps going up!

thrifted treasures

I totally scored on this dress!
paid $9, I guess it is more like a used consignment price, but I couldn't let it pass.
it is size large, and it doesn't look bad on me although I am size s(or xs sometimes).
but I think I will take a couple inches in from the sides for the better fit.

...and these coasters -$3.

love the delicate design :)

have a relaxing weekend♥

Marie, an old lady

before my motivation for creativity fades away,
I managed to whip up the Marie skirt.
I had been wanting to try this pattern for quite some time now.
I had this curtain thrifted about a month ago, and thought it would be perfect for Marie.
it is a very quick and easy project that can be done in an hour or less.
of course it took me a bit longer because I had to wait for my daughter to wake up from her nap.
I was patiently waiting on using a sewing machine because my craft corner is just right by the bed.
she usually naps for an hour or so, but that day she slept for more than two hours. of course!
I couldn't hold myself back any longer, and started sewing anyway.
well, she didn't wake up till I was half way done!

when I showed my husband this fabric(curtain) from a thrift store,
he immediately said it was very old lady like, and how much I like stuff that are old lady style.
okay, I admit it,,, yes I do! I do love old lady things!!

anyhow, the skirt turned out pretty, I think.

I think this pattern will also be cute as a bottom part of a dress as I've seen some of Burdastyle members have tried.
like these: ★ ★ ★

I also have a little more than half of the fabric left.
maybe, I can squeeze a dress out of the leftover fabric??
a vintage 50's style dress would be perfect!
don't you think?

thrifted

here are some of the thing I thrifted last week and this week...

poppie mugs -25c each
I have a thing with poppies.
and they were from Japan :)

new leopard socks -50c

I love animal prints, but don't quit have guts to try anything crazy...
I think I can give it a try with these lovely purple socks :)

obviously this is not everything,,,,
I got lots of fabric for making things!
I am hoping to work on making dresses out of them.
will make a post soon :)

addicted to...

[[THRIFTING]]

I went to a few thrift stores last week, just to brows things.
and scored on a few items like Canadian made tin cans and vintage looking plates(sorry no photos!).

now it appears I am addicted to thrift shopping.
I just can't stay away from the thrift stores!

today, on my way to home from running some errands,
I stopped by a couple thrift stores, and got these!

fabric rocking horse toy for little L(my daughter) -$1

stripy bears for little L -$1 for two
I just couldn't to say no to his charming face :)

brown leather shoulder bags for myself :) -$2 and $5
a girl can never own too many bags/purses!
now I can't wait for little L to graduate from diapers,
so that I can use a small bag or purse again!!
awgh! it's a long way to go!!

my weekend

my weekend flew by really quickly...
B, my husband, gets three day weekend, Fri, Sat & Sunday, because he works longer hours each day.
it is really nice having three day weekend.
Friday is usually our running errands day - grocery shopping for the week.
then Saturday and Sunday is chill out and play day.

I bought these vintage lace from a local vintage/antique store on Friday.
they were $1 each - score :)

Saturday, I made little L a strawberry custard tart from scratch for her half birthday.
of course, little L didn't get to eat it.
it is too early for her.
she has just started eating a little bit of solid food a few weeks a go.
instead I and B enjoyed it :)
B forgot to take the crust out of the oven while I and little L were having a bath,
so it was a bit over baked...
but it was still quite tasty!

Yesterday, we went to help our friends move.
I carried little L in Ergo Baby on my back, and moved boxes to a truck.
they had a lot of stuff!
