trousers?

I love jeans dearly♥

everything goes well with a pair of jeans,
you can dress up or down with jeans,

and the most importantly, they are super practical!(in my life with one year old, practicality comes first!!)
but I get tired of them sometimes...

don't you?

I am ready for something new for my bottoms!

for some reason, the word 'trousers' makes me think of old men's pants...

but those above in the pics so stylish and chic!

and they are perfect replacements for jeans!!

I think I am going to make one sometime soon with this pattern(of course it is in Portugees!) soon!!

we all probably had enough(well,,, more than enough) sweets over the holidays.

but I couldn't resist making a post on these cupcakes!

I might have to pick and try a recipe once my tummy is fully recovered from the holiday overindulgence.

I've just finished watching a movie, called An Education.

I have been wanting to watch it for a quite some time after seeing so many write-ups here and there on magazines and blogs.

another reason why I wanted to watch the movie was because I also had a little bit of girl crash on Carey Mulligan, too.

now her hair is short, and she looks great with the haircut.

I guess they look alike a little bit.

they both have such a pretty baby face!

I wish I looked good in it...

I cut my hair really short(like an inch long!!) one time when I was in high school,

but I did not like it AT ALL.

I looked like a little monkey... Xl

and of course it took forever to grow it back longer, which is the worst part if you don't like your new hairdo...

so, having had the experience, I don't think I will ever cut my hair short again. NEVER!

OLIVIA the pig

we checked out this book yesterday from a local library,

and I just can't get over how cute OLIVIA is!

now I am thinking of ordering some of the books for little L :)

recovering from the holidays

it is so hard to get back to normal life

after one whole week of nothing, but eating lots of food and sweets, sitting around, and hanging out...

now, I am going through a major recovery from the holidays.

my nose is runny and stuffy, throat itches, stomach is all weired from the overindulgence...

I am taking some tincture, drinking lots of teas, rubbing vapor balm into my throat, and eating healthy.

hope it will pass soon!

in addition to all the mess-ups on my body,

little L(my daughter) has been pretty fussy ever since we got back home from the holidays.

I guess she is going through attention withdraw.

all the attention she got from her grandparents, aunties & uncles, cousins and friends...

now, we are back to our normal life -papa & mama & little L.

ech...

coin purses & makeup pouches/pencil cases

I made a whole bunch of these for Christmas.
they were the gift for my nieces and friends.




I never worked with the purse frames,
so I web-surfed and found the following sites for references.

U-handbag


it was pretty easy to make,
but I had a heck of hard time when I was assembling them.
I did not have a pair of pliers that worked well climping the frames,
I was using my beading pliers, but it was not strong enough and leaving marks on the frame.
so, I tried something else, and ended up using my chasing hammer to climp them down.
it worked pretty well!
I would definitely get a pair of pliers for making framed purses if I make some more in the future tough.

we had a nice visit with the family and friends up on Quadra Island.

it was awesome to see ALL the family members, and we had a great time!

we just got back home today, and it is time to get back to our normal life and rutines.(good & bad)

so, here is my new years resolutions for 2010!

●be good at organizing things●

I often get lazy about organizing things, especially around my craft corner...

by making sure everything is in where they should be in the best way they need to be,

I should be able to work more efficiently!

well, this is one of many, but I will keep the rest to myself :P

well, for now anyway...

cabin

we've been up on Quadra Island since 23rd for the holidays,

and we had a fabulous christmas with all the family members!

(on my husband side, 19 of us, plus some friends. my family lives in Japan)

my husband's oldest sister and her family rented a cabin right across from the second oldest sister's house for a week.

now they are back in Alberta, and we, three, got a chance to stay at the cabin for a couple days!

it is really cute and I love how it is done.

a great mix of modern, vintage & sort of country-ish.

tomorrow, we go back to the second oldest sis's house, and we are going to be here until New Years.

little L has been a bit overwhelmed by all the people and activities,

so it was so nice to have our own space for two days to sort of make some adjustments and have some quiet time.

a very special day

one whole year has been already passed since the very special day of my life.

the day I met my daughter.

she was born today exactly a year ago at the exact time.

I remember

that winter was particularly cold.
there was lots of snow outside.

it was a beautiful snowy day.

I remember

the very first little cry of yours.

you made one little cry and cuddled into my arms.

and mama and papa fell in love with you right at that moment.

I remember

the little noise you made all night long

on the very first night outside mama's body.

all thee of us cuddled into the warm bed until the mornig came.

I remember

your grandpa and grandma's surprised faces

when they came to visit next day.

mama and papa kept you secret as a best Christmas gift for them.
