Never Let Me Go

watched Never Let Me Go a few nights ago.
it was a little different from what I expected.
well, tell the truth, didn't know what the story was about(had not really read the reviews/previews...).
so, no expectations really,
but when my husband was lost in a movie store and asked me for an input, I told him to get this one.
the clothing/stying and cinematography was beautiful,
and the story was interesting enough to make me want read the book.

changes are happening...

sorry for not blogging often lately...
some changes are coming upon us,
well, maybe they are happening as I speak.
I can't quite tell you what the changes are...
well, I, myself, can't even keep up with them, nor am I entirely sure how they will play out.
so, I will post about that later when things are more clear and sure.

anyhow, I finally watched this movie, called New York, I love You.
I had been wanting to watch this for a long time.

it is constructed from a bunch of different short stories, which are also interwoven together somehow.
each short story is written and directed by different play writer and director.

the main reason why I wanted to watch it was because I like the similar movie called, Paris je t'aime.
I guess, it is the same production...

here are the little youtube trailers.

I loved them both movies, but I think it would be much more fun watching it if you know(have visited or lived)those cities.
recognizing so many places and land marks in the movies would have made it much more real.

anyhow they are both good :)

I am trying to keep up with reading everyone else's blog even though I may not leave a comment.
I promise, I will write about what's going on as soon as it becomes more clear!

kittens, inspired by kittens

I love cats.
we got two kittens(brother and sister) when we got married because I missed living with cats so much.
and we made an agreement that if we didn't have any kids, I was going to be a cat lady.
but I guess that's not happening now... :(
we have a beautiful daughter instead!

sometimes, I get sucked in watching cute pet video clips. especially ones with kittens in it.
I just watched this one, and oh my! she's just so cute and hilarious!!
I just had to share this.

have a wonderful weekend :)

girl crush on short hair girls

I've just finished watching a movie, called An Education.
I have been wanting to watch it for a quite some time after seeing so many write-ups here and there on magazines and blogs.
another reason why I wanted to watch the movie was because I also had a little bit of girl crash on Carey Mulligan, too.
(pic)
she is just too cute and looked lovely in those dresses.

now her hair is short, and she looks great with the haircut.

I also love how Michelle Williams pulls off the short hair too.

I guess they look alike a little bit.
they both have such a pretty baby face!

I wish I looked good in it...
I cut my hair really short(like an inch long!!) one time when I was in high school,
but I did not like it AT ALL.
I looked like a little monkey... Xl
and of course it took forever to grow it back longer, which is the worst part if you don't like your new hairdo...
so, having had the experience, I don't think I will ever cut my hair short again. NEVER!

away we go

a must watch movie!

(pic)

one of the best movies we watched recently.

the story was really heart warming and it is a kind of movie makes you feel good after watching.

and the characters are really FUNNY!

one of the reasons why we like it so much was we were(are still?) in the similar situation as the couple.

(well, I guess you have to watch the movie to see what I mean!)

it also reminded me of my pregnancy with little L.

aw,,, it's making me I want to be pregnant again!

(although we have NO plan of having another child. well,,, for now!)

we are going up to Quadra Island for a few days to help my husband's parents build their house!

see you when we get back :)

coco chanel

just finished watching 'Coco Chanel'.

I am usually not really into the big name brands/labels,
but I wanted to watch this movie.
it was REALLY GOOD!

it was very inspiring,
and great to see how she became successful and famous "Chanel".

I highly recommend this movie :)

I watched an old one(2008), but the new one, 'Coco Before Chanel', is coming out!

no movie with Audrey Tautou in it can go wrong. right?

animation shorts

last night
I was just remembering a couple of the animation shorts we watched at Ashland Independent Film Festival in 2008.
I totally had a different expectation for animation until I saw these.

one of them was Naked Branches by Will Kim.
it is a gorgeous watercolor animation.

I remember he was asked how many pieces he had to paint,
and it was like 3000 or 5000, some ridiculous numbers of paintings for a not even 5 minute film,
and a lot of them didn't even get used in the final product.
a lot of work!
but sure it is so beautiful - both images and story(and sad).
click here to check out his other films and art!

the other one was Madame Tutli-Putli.
an animation done with puppets.

this movie was very interesting and really intense.

all the animation shorts that were played at the festival were very interesting and well done.
but these two movies are, for some reason, imprinted in my memory very vividly.
