animal house

do you like animals?

do you like wallpapers?

if you do, this is a very fun book to own!

Animal House by Kathrene Ledner

well, even if you don't, just take a look.
they are so darn cute!!
it's well worth checking out!!!

here are some of my favourites from the book.

actually, all of them are pretty AWESOME :)

I love wallpapers!
if I ever own a place,
(and if I had lots of money)
some rooms will be wallpapered, for sure :)

first time...

kind of inspired by this styling from NYLON 09/09
and the lingerie display trend.

I guess, I figured that I am liking the stud thing.
also, as you can see, there are THREE pairs of shoes!
I couldn't decide on which ones(who doesn't love shoes, anyway?!)
and you have to have a spare flat pair for your poor tired feet, of course.

took me sometime to exprore the site.

it was time consuming...
but FUN :)
I will be better at it someday....

rescue me

I love Bach RESCUE REMEDY series.
especially the pastilles are my favourite!
they taste very yummy flowery citrus.
it makes you calm and relieves you from stress!
you can take it when you are pregnant and breastfeeding!
it even helps with a teething baby :)
you can also use it for your pets.

a must have at your home and in your bag :)

in this issue...

NYLON September 09

things that caught my eye:

I really liked this styling

- the balance of the jeans + shoes is SO perfect.
but, I don't digg the shoulder patted cardigan thing...
love the jeans.
but I don't think I can pull off... :(

because they are like this when they are flat!

(pic via)
my legs are too athletic for them.

APC add

very pretty

and much more...
lots more eye candies...

coco chanel

just finished watching 'Coco Chanel'.

I am usually not really into the big name brands/labels,
but I wanted to watch this movie.
it was REALLY GOOD!

it was very inspiring,
and great to see how she became successful and famous "Chanel".

I highly recommend this movie :)

I watched an old one(2008), but the new one, 'Coco Before Chanel', is coming out!

no movie with Audrey Tautou in it can go wrong. right?

comfortably dressy

Oh
it's been a looooooooooooooooooong time since the last time I sewed something.

I FINALLY managed to make a dress last week.
I had an idea of making something comfortable, yet still kind of dressy at the same time.

I don't like dressed in something restricting and uncomfortable.
I decided to use jersey fabric.
I love jersey! - so comfortable.

I wanted to use (charcoal) grey,
but they didn't have the right color/weight jersey at the local fabric store I usually go to.

so, it became my Little Black Dress.
I got these booties from Laws of General Economy.
it is a great blog that I go check it out every once in a while.

note

just a quick post:
I sewed a dress yesterday.
it turned out well, and the way I wanted :)

weekends are always busy.
especially now, my husband works away from home, in Vancouver, during the weekdays,
and comes back home only on the weekends.
thankfully, his weekend is three day weekend, fri - sun.
so we still can do a lot of things together!
oh, gotta run, and get out of the house to enjoy the last days of summer!

I will post the dress sometime next week.

have a wonderful weekend :)

how-to - knotted bracelet

okay, here is the how-to I promised.

these are the things you need in addition to the tools we used in basic wirewrapping.

embroidery threads
chain
fish line or some kind of thread that is stiff but flexible(not in the pic)
clear nail polish(not in the pic)
clasp(not in the pic)
wire/jump ring(not in the pic)

①cut the embroidery thread in 50cm(~20inch)

and fold it at 12cm(~5inch) from one end - this is the base core end

②using a piece of fish line as a needle, thread it through a link of chain
and tie a lark's head knot: bring both ends through the loop
now, the thread is attached to the chain!

③vertical halt hitch

keep the base core end straight,
and bring the working end over then loop it around and back under the core end

this simple knot will form a spiral pattern
continue knotting until it reaches the length you wish
- I made this one 4cm(1.6inch) long, total length of 16.8cm(6.6inch)

④tie a lark's head knot with the core end onto the other end of chain

then tie a square knot
and seal the knot with a dab of clear nail polish
*do not use crazy glue, it tends to dry out the thread/cord

⑤put a clasp on the end of the chain to finish it off
- either wirewrap(simple loop & wrapped loop or use jumpring(o-shaped ring with a opening)

tadaaaaaaa!

in less than a half an hour,
you'll have this cute bracelet on your wrist :)
make them in different colors and have fun!

high speed

yay!
we got the high speed Internet at home, FINALLY!
ah! it's so much faster.
frustration free life again :)

I've been feeling not too well for the past few days.
I think I got a stomach flue...
no worries, feeling much better today!
but, little L seems to have runny nose today.
hopefully nothing serious, and it doesn't get worse than that....

hope you all had a nice weekend :)!

love & hate

I am a shoe addict.
getting a new pair totally excites me.
and makes me happy.

as much as I love shoes
I hate breaking into them.

the first day when I wear a new pair makes me really nervous...
I have to think over so many times if it is even worth getting my feet hurt...
and usually a procrastination takes place for a few occasions until I feel I must.

so I've owned this pair of vintage shoes for a few months.

could have worn them long time ago,
but neglected them for a while.
(needless to say, I had been wanting to wear them so badly...)

last weekend, I decided to wear them for the very first time.
vintage - well, doesn't sounds that bad. right?
someone else already broke into them, and the leather should be nice and soft, I thought.

well,,,

W R O N G !

I got so many blisters on my right foot.. X(
(thank god, it's only one foot!)

that is one of the good reasons I always carry bandades in my wallet.
sure they are so very handy!

by now, I should also learn to carry another pair of comfortable shoes when I wear a new pair for the first time...

Etsy - jewelry updates #2

another cute bracelet for you!
I originally started making a green one as my friend's upcoming birthday gift.
then I decided to make a few more for my Etsy shop cuz it turned out so darn cute :)

I love the delicate look, but the colors add a little bit of playful fun.

I would also like to post a how-to on this bracelet.
I've taken pictures and all I have to do is write step-by-step directions.
but I'm going to wait until next week when we FINALLY get a high speed Internet at home!
yay! no more piggiebacking on the S L O W internet!!
it's been pretty frustrating trying to get online, and getting bumped off.
it's waaaaayyyyyy toooooooo sloooooooooowwwwwwww ...

so, please stay tuned!
I will also post a how-to on hoop earrings next week, as I promised!

sing you goodnight

little L is very musical.

the very first night after she was born,
she was making this very cute breathing cooing sound all night.

-one of very precious memorable moments you'll never forget-

she loves singing.
makes different kind of sounds, noise and tones.

the past few nights, we've been singing together in bed before going to sleep.
well,,, more like toning.

humming in different tones

until she falls asleep.

sometimes, we all fall a sleep.

very precious

very happy

who would they be?

who would you choose to go out shopping with?

I've been thinking about this ever since Karen(from Little Sweet Hearts) wrote this blog post.

okay, I admit,
I got a bit too obsessed thinking about it... :P
my shopping girlfriends would be...

her

Michelle Williams (photo via and via)

her
Zooey Deschanel(photo via and via)

and her!
Kate Moenning

I think both Michelle and Zooey are very feminine and so super cute,
and I just love Kate's style.
she pulls off the men's-like fashion really well.
(and I LOVE Shane, of course...♥!)

who would you choose to go out shopping with?

9pm last night

last night

a little past 9pm
I decided to work on this vest I made before.
little L was sleeping peacefully in the bed.

my vest was sitting on a hanger for a while.
I didn't want to sell it even though it didn't fit me well,
but I liked how it turned out when I originally made it.

why didn't I fix it sooner?
don't know!

I guess I get turned off and unmotivated when things don't turn out the way I want at first.

it was a simple fix though.
took me about half an hour.

little L was sleeping right beside my crafting corner.
(we don't have a bedroom :( but there is a loft instead...)
she wiggled a little bit when I ran sewing machine, but didn't really wake up.
what a good sleeper!

vest
with simple gray t-shirt
and boyfriend jeans(I love how they are called now! so very cute!)
and, YES!
I cut my bangs last week!
ha!
I just wanted something different.
it's been like 6 years since the last time I had my bangs...!!

I am really into GRAYS right now!
especially, charcoal gray.
and a combination of charcoal gray and black.

keeping it happy and alive

I love this 'My Secret to a Happy Marriage' series on A CUP OF JO.
I find this one really cute :)

what are your secrets??
